More stops along the retro route!

Nellie’s Diner lies like an oasis along Sweden’s route 66 – route 190. This road is also called the retro route thanks to its special route through the countryside and all the genuine, retro-inspired, businesses along it. Here are some favorites nearby to check out:

Anten-Gräfsnäs Heritage Railway

A heritage railway that steams between the Anten and Gräfsnäs stations with well-maintained trains and wagons from the 40s and 50s. The stretch and the stations are part of the old Västgöta Line. When you’re in Gräfsnäs we recommend a trip to the Hembygdspark and the old castle ruins on the shore of Lake Anten.

Andra våningen in Nossebro

In the old fire station, you can visit a unique retro apartment with three rooms and a kitchen. With genuine 60s decor, it’s a real nostalgia trip. The retro route started in Nossebro and you’ll find many interesting historical exteriors and interiors here.

Lammet & Bonden

Visit a working farm where the animals thrive. There’s also a well-stocked farm shop with meat and other delicious dinner party ingredients.

The giant’s cauldrons in Brobacka

In Brobacka nature reserve you can wander around fascinating landscapes with around 40 impressive giant’s cauldrons. It’s nice to take a walk here after enjoying a lovely fika at Nellie’s.

Risveden

Risveden is one of western Sweden’s largest forested areas, with varied scenery, high hills, and masses of lakes. Several trails exploring the wilderness start in Sjövik.

Cafe town Alingsås

With a rich 400-year-old history and a reputation as Sweden’s capital city of fika, there’s a lot to see and do in Alingsås, within a close range. Mooch around the pretty town center enjoying the smell of freshly baked cakes.
